# 0669 - Amazing Affirmation Prayer

Father, when I am afraid, I will put my confidence in You. Yes, I will trust Your promises. And since I trust You, what can mere man do to me?

You have not given me a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline (sound judgment). Therefore I am not ashamed of the testimony of my Lord. I have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but I have received a spirit of adoption as a son, by which I cry out, “Abba! Father!”

Jesus, You delivered me, who through fear of death had been living all my life as a slave to constant dread. I receive the gift You left to me—peace of mind and heart! And the peace You give isn’t fragile like the peace the world gives. I cast away troubled thoughts, and I choose not to be afraid. I believe in God; I believe also in You.

Lord, You are my light and my salvation, You protect me from danger — whom shall I fear? When evil men come to destroy me, they will stumble and fall! Yes, though a mighty army marches against me, my heart shall know no fear! I am confident that You will save me.

Thank You, Holy Spirit, for bringing these things to my remembrance when I am tempted to be afraid. I will trust in my God. In the name of Jesus, I pray.

# 0667 - Prayer Against HIV & More

BLESSINGS!

Your ministry started praying for me when I began a special daily shot of inteferon to fight cirroshis scarring & bring my hep c viral level down. I began this about 8-9 weeks ago as you may recall & have some good results. Initially: I lost nearly 20 pounds & developed anemia along w/ other side-effects.

But praise God my last blood work showed a 200 fold drop in Hep C viral load in only 1 month; normal tests is for a client doing well to have a 100 fold drop after 3 full months; but my dr. took labs after a month showing a drop from 2 million to 1,100, a level that takes others 3 or more months to reach and many don't reach at all.

My weight is also gradually going up & per my dr. there are no traces of anemia but I must take a weekly shot ofrocrit to prevent it from coming back.

Lastly my t-cells dropped which naturally happens w/ the inteferon..so I ask for continued prayers that the VIRAL LEVELS (HEP C & HIV) WILL GO TO UNDETECTABLE, ANEMIA NOT RETURN, MORE ENERGY & A RISE IN T-CELLS.

Also, the Lord is blessing me financially when I turned 55 in April I had 3 retirement funds made available to me - 1 I rolled over in to a SCOTTRADE trading account, starting w/ about 30K. I hope that this will help supplement my disability insurance (although I won't touch any profits until 59 & 1/2 due to taxes) & ask that you pray that I have wisdom. My purpose is not to become rich but have more to give away; even on disability I never give less than 10% and sometimes up to 20+% a month.

I am on track for a healthier summer and pray that you are too.

Brother Rick, in Brooklyn, New York

# 0666 - Danny's Run-Around....

After getting rejected from the Hospital, my friend Carl got with Randy (Lindale Assembly). They got him a place to go in San Antonio, Victory Outreach, so Ron calls him a cab to take him to San Antonio. He gets there, and they tell him they cannot take him because of all of his health problems.

So they put him on a bus and send him to Houston, He calls me and tells me this, I did not sleep all night, went down town at 4:20 and picked him up.I missed the exit street and got all turned around so had to ask people three times how to get to the bus station.

Danny's feet and legs were so swallen he could barely walk with his walker to get in the car. Got him in the bed then this morning he tries to get up to go to the bathroom and falls down, I couldn't get him up, so I called 911 they came out and took him to Ben Taub. So the goal is now that Ben Taub will do something about his legs and feet. And Misty found a place called Open Door Mission that have a medical staff that works with Ben Taub

So just believe with me that this will work.

Thank you so much for the prayers

- Donna

# 0665 - More Prayer for Elijah

Shabbat Shalom,

Just an update on my prayer request from this morning. There may be an opening for my son Elijah at the one University near us. If he could get the position there, the university would cover the cost of his classes and education there, as well as all his books and supplies. Please pray he will find favor with these people. It would be of great financial help to me, as I am helping him pay for college as well as he is working to help pay. I believe God can answer. He holds all things in His hands.

Thank You,

- Holly

Safe Water and Hope for China Earthquake Survivors

CHARLESTON, Sc., May 23 /Christian Newswire/ -- Water Missions International (WMI) International Project Director, Andre Merganthaler, landed today in Chengdu, China to lead a water resource team of engineers and technicians responsible for installation and operation of 12 water purification systems. Six water purification systems, requested by Samaritan's Purse (SP), were included in SP's chartered Boeing 747 carrying $1 million in relief supplies, airlifted from Charlotte, NC to Chengdu, China today (May 23). Six more systems, will be sent from the WMI Headquarters in Charleston, SC to Chengdu, China early next week. This airlift is made possible by FedEX. Each water system is assembled by volunteer labor, provides a continuous supply of approximately 10,000 gallons per day, and can be rapidly deployed and installed in only a few hours. The systems purify available surface and contaminated well water sources in disaster areas.

A deadly, 7.8-magnitude earthquake shook China's Sichuan province on Monday, May 12, affecting millions of people. To date, the quake and its aftershocks have claimed more than 55,000 lives and left more than a quarter of a million people injured. The latest reports estimate that another 25,000 people are still missing and could be buried beneath the rubble. One week after the disaster, 4.8 million people are homeless and in desperate need of food, shelter, and clean, safe water.
At the Samaritan's Purse Press Conference this morning, Zhang Ping, of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China thanked Jerry Miner, WMI VP Disaster Response, for the water treatment systems that will provide much needed assistance.

# 0662 - Prayer for a Godly Policeman

Willie is a police office and family man. He's raising his children to love the Lord and have good morals. He does the same on his job and gets laughed at and made fun of because he won't do things against God's Word. Willie has even gotten called down by his supervisor for turning off a program that had very immoral scenes in it ...this was on the job. Please pray for Willie to stay strong and that God will use him as a laborer of the harvest right there on the job.

# 0660 - Serious Prayer for Kimberly

My name is Kimberly and I am in need of your care and prayers. My husband left me 4 years ago, and I miss him so. He took our three children with him to New York, 2 years ago, I miss them too. I don't get to talk to my children. I send them letters, that I don't even know if they get.

I have so much on my mind. A year ago, my husband Ryan called me up and told me he was going for full custody. My mind has not thought the same since. I spend most of my time thinking of ways that I can get custody of my children, how the judge will
judge me, what I will look like the in the courtroom, if I will be terribly hurt by seeing my husband with another woman. I would like to have him back and some ministries believe in that. I try to pray everyday about it and give it over to the Lord but I don't know if I am doing that right. I wish I knew God's will for my marriage. I wish, my husband, Ryan, would call me or show up at the door asking me if I want to start all over again too.

Besides those problems, I have neighbors, family, and loved ones who are not saved, who laugh at me for believeing, who use meth and other street drugs. Please Stand with me in my marriage (for my husband to turn his life over to the Lord and come back home soon). Please also stand with me in my beliefs for my loved ones and
everyone that I know to give their lives over to the care of God and change their ways forevermore. I pray that they all find deliverance from drugs.

Thank You for reading this, and standing with me. Also, please pray, that all the letters that I am sending to my children, will not affect the divorce and child custody issues that I am facing in any negative way, that they will only help me to get custody (if I have to fight for custody)(If my husband doesn't return home) (I don't want to lose) (Pray that Ryan forgives me and I forgive him soon). Also, pray for my Spirit to be healed, it has been hurting me and I don't know why.

Kimberly, in Missouri

# 0659 - Affirmation Prayer for Our Children

Father, Your Word declares that children are an inheritance from You, and promises peace when they are taught in Your ways. I dedicate my child/children to You today, that each one might be raised, as You would desire. In the Name of Jesus, I bind their feet to paths You have chosen. I believe that as Your word goes forth, it will enter the heart of my child/children, and Your Word will accomplish what it says it will in the Name of Jesus. Amen.

# 0658 - Prayer List

1.) Please pray for my dog Boots, he is very sick with pancreaitits, and they have keep him in the vet hospital and giving him fluids and antibotics. They said it could cost from 500 up to 800 dollars depending on the amount of days and all they have to do. Please pray for Boots to get well. Thanks so much. God Bless and thanks so much for praying. - Geneva

2.) My daughter Christine gave God glory for her healing. My mother and two sisters have come against Christine, calling her husband saying that she is crazy. They have also come against my other daughter Michele saying she is in a cult because Michele was trying to tell them that we are in the last days. Pray for Christine not to feel so hurt and the same for Michele. - Daniel

3.) a.) I have a horrible sinus headache and sore throat.

b.) 2 of the children I watch have diarrehea and runny noses. They have been miserable for the last 2 days. Thanks again :)

- JKat

4.) Update on Logan....

a.) Logan's progress has been in baby steps and it seems like there are days when no progress at all can be detected. I did find out this morning that he has been released from the hospital, but is in a rehabilitation and therapy center connected to the hospital. Logan has never "woken up". His eyes open and it appears that he is awake, but he is not responding voluntarily. He does respond to stimulus, but nothing on his own. Personally, I fear that this is his awake, but like all who are
praying for him, I pray that my fear is unfounded and nothing more than that, fear. I know that Our Lord has a plan for Logan or he would not still be alive. Logan's still so very young and God created the human body to overcome difficulties. It is my prayer that the brain and the body, with God's direction, will heal and compensate for the damaged brain cells in Logan so he will be able to have a productive and wonderful life. Much like the way the body and brain can compensate for a blind person or someone with other disabilities.

His parents have basically secluded themselves and are concentrating on learning the
skills they are going to need in order to care for Logan once he comes home. My updates are coming from his Grandma Gail's employers, who Gail is in touch with daily. Some days there is good news and somedays, there are no changes. Please, continue to pray for Logan and the family.

b.) Also, can you please add to the prayer that the many benefits and fundraisers
for Logan that are being held are a great success. The insurance company is fighting the claim and this is causing so much stress on the family. The fundraisers so far have helped raised quite a bit of money, but Logan's hospital bills are already in excess of $1M. As you can imagine, this is devastating for the family.

I hope you have a Blessed day and a Blessed and safe Memorial Day Weekend.

- Lisa

# 0657 - Baby Tyler With Jesus Now....

Baby Tyler has now passed away. Please pray for the family and over the situations below....
__________________________

She has two children from a previous relationship. They are 13 and 11. Steve's kids are 9 and 5. The major issue right now is that they have no money to even bury the baby. Steve had been working with Bill and got laid off a few months ago. He'd been doing work on the side while he collected unemployment, but that ran out a couple of weeks ago. Laura just worked in a fast food place.

The baby was on Medicaid, so today Laura's girlfriend and I are going to see what we can find out about getting some financial assistance from DFACS (Family and Children's Services).

The worst part is yesterday was the 5-year old's birthday, so every year his birthday will be a reminder...

# 0655 - Cry Out for the Children....

Cry Out for the Children

Today's Dallas Morning News headline read - "Appeals court: State had no right to seize children from polygamist compound"

May 23, 2008 - Who can explain what it is about a news story when the Spirit puts His finger on your heart to not just pass it by like so many other sad and outrageous news stories we are exposed to day after day?

The news story about the children the state of Texas removed from the FLDS polygamous sect ranch is like that for me. The finger of God is in my heart about it.

I know the message on my heart is that if the people of God will not cry out for the children, thousands of FLDS children across North America are doomed, never to escape their abused captivity under an abominable perversion of the Word of God. This is a spiritual battle first and foremost, and that is not to say that we should pray only, but we should pray and then cry out in the public arena.

For hours and hours I have researched what is being written in newspapers and by the new grass roots ‘free press’ of blogs and commentary websites. Sadly, the voice of the people of God is simply not being raised in the public square for the protection of these children.

Overwhelmingly the articles and reader talkbacks, web page and blog commentaries are more interested in preserving the “civil rights” of the children (not to be removed from their polygamist families) than they are seeking to protect the children from systematic sexual child abuse.

Everybody knows what the FLDS is doing in their isolated, fortressed compounds in the Western United States, Canada and Mexico. Sexual relations with minors is illegal in all those places, but the educated, engaged voices in America are crying out AGAINST the authorities in the State of Texas and Child Protective Services for removing over 400 minors from the Eldorado, Texas compound.

It is discouraging that so few believers have spoken out on behalf of the real issue at stake here - protecting the children of the sect. Marci Hamilton, author of God vs. the Gavel says the FLDS sect is a “conspiracy of adults to commit systematic child sex abuse.”

That is decidedly not the message of most commentaries and news stories the public is being bombarded with concerning these children. Few are the stories that give voice to women who have escaped life in the FLDS polygamist system. They are out there speaking up and trying to get the truth out, but pundits and reporters would rather major on the violation of civil rights angles straight out of the liberal relativism legalese playbook.

Maybe there would be a spiritual intercessory outcry and public outcry from Christians:

If Christians were exposed to interviews of Elissa Wall, victim in the Warren Jeffs trial and author of Stolen Innocence; or Polygamy’s Rape of Rachel Strong; or 17 other FLDS survivor testimonies detailed in Andrea Moore Emmett’s book, God’s Brothel; or the book Shattered Dreams by Irene Spencer, who at 16 years old became the second wife of an FLDS cult leader, who was also her brother-in-law; or Carolyn Jessop’s Escape, or Susan Ray Schmidt’s His Favorite Wife: Trapped in Polygamy.

If Christians would hear the cry from FLDS survivor and rescue advocacy websites, like Rowenna Erickson’s Tapestry Against Polygamy site. If Christians were aware of the work of Debbie Palmer (Keep Sweet: Children of Polygamy) and Daphne Branham (The Secret Lives of Saints) who has investigated the genetic family tree ties between minor girls in the FLDS compound in British Columbia and adolescent girls from the Eldorado Texas compound.

If Christians knew that watchdogs in Colorado are reporting recent Jeffs’ family purchases of large tracts of land in remote Colorado places. If Christians knew the history of unsuccessful attempts in the past by other states for legal intervention on behalf of children in the FLDS polygamist sect and how the public opinion war was won by the sect playing on public sympathies of their right of religion – and the public ignorance of the true nature of minor sexual abuse and brainwashing that is the reality of life in the FLDS sect.

Some Washington politicians have shown interest in the case but the U.S. Attorney for Utah and the FBI’s Salt Lake City field office head say there is no need for a federal polygamy task force.

As one of the few high placed newspaper editorial writers to speak out on behalf of the FLDS sect children, Ellen Goodman of the Washington Post writes in an article entitled, Sex Abuse in the Name of Religion Isn’t a Lifestyle – It’s Sex Abuse, that there has been enormous concern generated by the story but it says something about our culture that the concern has primarily been “of children taken from parents, of families wrenched apart….Is this a rescue operation or a state-sponsored attack on parents?”

“Nevertheless,” Goodman asks “what are we to make of an entire sect that has sexual abuse at its very heart?

This is the critical question, and I believe it is the question from the very heart of God for us.

Yesterday the Third Court of Appeals in Austin ruled that the San Angelo court was wrong to give CPS custody of the children because the evidence presented was "legally and factually insufficient."

Unfortunately, this is the same Appeals court where the only faith-based court brief was filed (that I’m aware of) on May 2nd, appealing to the court to be careful not to set a “dangerous precedent” for religious liberty and parental rights in the “cases over allegations of sexual abuse alleged in the polygamist ranch raid.”

This also says something about us that the case has caused Christians to voice concern and ask for prayer about potential legal precedents that might cause religious liberty issues for Christians in the future, without voicing much concern for the sect children themselves.

At times we are so on watch with self-protection, we are actually foiling the best attempts of our government to protect all us.
A salient point that was brought by a Counter-Terrorism expert, Jeffrey Breinholt in Polygamy and Terrorism: The Religion Factor in Texas, who wrote: “The question is whether a state or federal government can define what constitutes a crime, and whether that crime can be enforced where the alleged conduct is religiously-inspired.”

Since returned to a Department of Justice post, Breinholt noted, “…the Texas case involves a common issue in counterterrorism - the ability of the government to take action against religiously-inspired conduct.” Muslim defendants in terrorism prosecutions, Breinholt explains, also claim that their planned violence should be excused because it was mandated by their faith.

In the end, it is the public that decides what it is going to put up with and what it will not. We may believe that we can live with granting illegal expression of religious belief to polygamists, but can we live with that precedent being extended to jihadists?

The most critical concern is to ensure the freedom of FLDS children from sexual predators, but there are farther reaching ramifications to how the public, the media and the courts ultimately view this case.

As Ellen Goodman wrote, “… in the end, what we have on that ranch in Eldorado is not a lifestyle. It's a pedophile ring. If we cannot rescue children from that, we've already destroyed their village.”

In the end, if Christians cannot put in first priority the thousands of FLDS children currently, as well as the older generations of FLDS members who have been raised in and held captive by a gross perversion of the Word of God, then we are in default. If we don’t stand up for the weak and the oppressed now, we will not long hold onto our own strength, liberties and freedom.

Pray for the Supreme Judge of the whole Creation to arise on behalf of the FLDS children represented in the Texas case. Authorities and advocacy groups in several western states, as well as Canada and Mexico are watching carefully the developments in this case. If the state of Texas prevails in intervention to set the captives free and prosecute the illegal polygamists, then others will take courage and act in their jurisdictions. If the state of Texas fails, everyone will throw up their hands and give up on these victims of institutionalized child sexual abuse.

On behalf of the children, the girls and women, and even the “lost boys” and men who have been excommunicated by the alpha males of the FLDS, let us cry out to God for justice in this case… Then we must follow our intercession with our public outcry to holding up the arms of the authorities and sending a message to the judges: Protect the victims, not their abusers.

# 0654 - Affirmation Prayer

Father, You are the Strength of my life. U.S. Supreme Court to Determine Meaning of Second Amendment

New Book by Attorney Representing 300 Members of Congress in District of Columbia vs. Heller Reveals True Intent of the Founders

OAKLAND, Calif., May 19 /Christian Newswire/ -- After nearly 70 years of silence regarding the Second Amendment, the U.S. Supreme Court is presiding over the District of Columbia vs. Heller and is expected to render a decision in June.

At issue, as attorney and Independent Institute Research Fellow Stephen P. Halbrook explains in his new book The Founders' Second Amendment: Origins of the Right to Bear Arms (June 6, 2008 / Ivan R. Dee / $28.95), is whether the Second Amendment protects a citizen's right to privately keep arms.

Many have argued that the language in the Bill of Rights refers only to individuals active in a militia, such as the National Guard. But as Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has opined, and as a growing body of evidence seems to indicate, the "right of the people to keep and bear arms" may very well be personal.

Having won three cases before the Supreme Court, Halbrook filed an Amici Curiae Brief on behalf of 55 Members of the Senate, the Senate President, and 250 Members of the House of Representatives, available for download at: www.independent.org.

While many books have been penned on gun control and related issues, none have delved so deeply into the nature of the right to keep and bear arms as it was understood and practiced during the first generation of the American Republic. The Founders' Second Amendment captures the intent of the Founders in their own words from newspapers, correspondence, and political debates; and also draws on archival sources revealed for the first time ever. Thomas Jefferson, an avid gun collector, believed that "all power is inherent in the people . . . it is their right and duty to be at all times armed." Samuel Adams understood that "peaceable citizens" should "keep their own arms." And as Federalist Tench Coxe understood the right, it concerned "private arms."

By placing historical events and their modern-day applications in context, Halbrook reveals how the intent of the Founders is hard to misinterpret. From the 1768 Redcoat occupation of Boston and disarming of citizens to the Declaration of Independence in 1776, Halbrook's authoritative analysis of history demonstrates the great significance of this right to the Founders. When controversy ignited in 1787 over the ratification of a Constitution without a corresponding declaration of rights, compromise was only reached after James Madison drafted the Bill of Rights, affirming later on his association of republican government with an armed populace.

Now, more than 200 years later, as the Supreme Court weighs the arguments in the city known as Murder Capital U.S.A., Stephen P. Halbrook urges the Justices to recognize that the true meaning of the Second Amendment is as essential to the Bill of Rights as is that of the First.

# 0649 - Christians Detained in China....

Prominent House Church Leader Detained in Xinjiang on Separatism Charge

HUOCHENG, Xinjiang, May 19 /Christian Newswire/ -- CAA has learned that a prominent house church leader was detained in Xinjiang Province on May 16, 2008. Eyewitnesses have informed CAA that at 1:00pm on May 16, 2008, Lou Yuanqi, a house church leader in Qingshuihe Town, Huocheng County of Xinjiang Uygur Atonomous Region was summoned to Qingshuihe Township Police Station by The State Security agency and interrogated for an hour. At 11:30pm the same day, Lou Yuanqi was transferred to Huocheng County Detention Center under a charge of "inciting separatism".

Pastor Lou has been arrested several times in the past. He was detained on October 20, 2006, along with 3 other pastors for organizing a House Church. All 4 pastors served 32 days in detention where they were severely beaten by guards and inmates on a daily basis. This is the first time Lou has been detained under criminal detention which means he will likely face a serious indictment in the court.

On February 28, 2008, his 16 year old daughter Lou Nan was detained for one day along with other 10 minors when they were caught attending a children's Bible study. This will be the second time the Chinese government has used a "Separatist Charge" against a house church leader. On May 27, a Uygur Christian Alimujiang Yimiti will be tried in the Kashi City Court, in Xinjiang for being accused of separatism and espionage for foreigners. (more details available here)

CAA calls upon the Chinese government to immediately release this innocent pastor.

# 0648 - More Prayer for Baby Tyler....

This morning Tyler's heart stopped, and he had to be recussitated. He was put on a blood thinner which caused a hemmorhage in his brain. Tonight the doctors say he has no brain stem function.

Please pray for a miracle.

# 0647 - Continued Prayer for Chris....

Chris went to the Dr today and had lost 9 lbs! He has no appetite, and is starting to lean toward diarrhea. The doctor prescribed some meds to help, but I would ask for you all to pray Chris thru this hurdle. He cannot afford to lose so much weight, and will continue to lose if he doesn't start eating more. His spirits are good and positive, so for that I am thankful. He is home for the week, and has outpatient chemo next Tuesday, and then I guess is home again for the rest of that week, too. We continue to think of attending the revival/healing in Lakeland, FL, but have to work it around Jim's work, and our crafts show, and of course, we should avoid Memorial Day weekend, probably couldn't get a flight then anyway.

Thank you for praying.

Love ya, Taffy

# 0646 - Pray for Marriage & Healing

Please pray that my wife give me another chance to prove myself with a crack of an open heart.

Also for healing her body. She's getting her gums worked on tomorrow (Wed).

And also, pray that the Lord gives me the right words to speak.

Thank You Night Watch!

# 0644 - Update on Baby Callie....

Cal still is doing well. She's a hefty 35 pounds now. She is impossible to carry long distances but still cannot walk. She's outgrown her umbrella stroller so we are waiting for a wheelchair that's she's been measured for. She is crawling quite well now although the ostomy bag and g-tube extension can slow her down. She can hold her self up straight on her knees. I'm sure pretty soon she'll be taking some steps. In the meantime, we need some help getting her around. The only mode of transportation we have now is her push-buggy her grandma got for her except now she tries to dive out of it as everything on the outside ground intrigues her. It'll take 90 days apparently to get the wheelchair. I pulled out Noah's old stroller which seems to fit her. I think this week I am going to try to venture out with her and the kids.

We are finally able to get laminate flooring and get that moldy carpet up out of the house. We are grateful for the help we recieved to make that possible :-)

Hopefully by the end of the month, we'll be able to kiss that carpet goodbye.
Noah and Cozy got their first pets a few weeks ago. Two fancy rats named Speed Racer and Sleeping Beauty - they're both boys, but Cozy was hard pressed to think of a boy's name.

Cal has her ups and downs with her ostomy output. Recently, it's been better. Her electrolytes are okay, and her magnesium is still good. I have to give her daily IV boluses of mag and draw her blood on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for testing at the docs.

She is a Bunnytown fanatic now, and we have to watch it continually on the DVR.
Even during the stress of everything, we understand this is a respite from a long journey we are not eager to begin again. Thank you for your continued prayers.

Love,

- Karen

# 0643 - Affirmation Prayer....

Father, I pray that I may be filled with the love of God. You are able to do immeasurably more than all I ask or imagine, according to Your power that is at work within me. To You goes all the glory in the Church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

Ephesians 3:19-21

# 0642 - More Prayer for Danny....

The Hospital would not let Danny stay without insurance or Social Security. They merely put some tight socks on his legs and gave him a stronger pain perscription. So Ron had to pick him up and take him back to the apartment, and get his perscription filled.

So please pray for a move of God in this situation.

Thanks

- Donna

Water Missions International Deploys Water Purification Systems to Earthquake-Stricken China

CHARLESTON, South Carolina, May 20 /Christian Newswire/ -- Today, at approximately 12:30p.m. EST, Water Missions International (WMI) will deploy six water purification systems from its Charleston, SC facility to China's Sichuan province to aid survivors of the deadly earthquake that shook on May 12. The six systems, requested by Samaritan's Purse (SP), will be transported to Charlotte, NC and then airlifted to Chengdu, China on Friday, May 23. An additional six water systems, currently positioned in Bangkok, Thailand, will also be transported to China this week. WMI's International Project Director, Andre Mergenthaler, will travel from Bangkok to China to assist with installation and operation of the 12 systems. Each water system is assembled by volunteer labor, provides a continuous supply of approximately 10,000 gallons per day, and can be rapidly deployed and installed in only a few hours to purify available surface and shallow well water sources in disaster affected areas.

A deadly, 7.8-magnitude earthquake shook China's Sichuan province on Monday, May 12, affecting millions of people. To date, the quake and its aftershocks have claimed more than 34,000 lives and left nearly a quarter of a million people injured. The latest reports estimate that another 14,000 people could still be buried beneath the rubble. One week after the disaster, 4.8 million people are homeless and in desperate need of food, shelter, and clean, safe water.

About WMI:

Water Missions International (WMI) is a nonprofit, Christian engineering organization based in Charleston, SC. WMI's mission is to provide sustainable access to safe water and an opportunity to hear the "Living Water" message in developing countries and disaster areas. # 0638 - Yet More Persecution In China

House Church Members Detained in Guizhou Province

GUIZHOU PROVINCE, China, May 20 /Christian Newswire/ -- CAA has learned that on March 15, 2008, several house church members were gathered at the home of Wu Yao Hua in Erli Village, Xishui County, Guizhou Province, when several police officials disrupted their meeting and ordered the members to stop their activities. The officials confiscated hymn books and leaflets from the house church.

Police officials disrupted the church meeting again on March 29. One of the house church members, Wu Guang Qing, began to argue the legality of the gathering by reading to the officials the law and regulations regarding citizen's rights of Religious freedom. The officials ignored his remarks and confiscated Bibles, flashlights, and the book of law and regulations that Wu had read from.

Two of the church members, Wu Xin Quan and Wu Guang Qing were summoned to the Erli Police Station. Two more members, Li Shi Zhen and Zhang Shao Lin were taken by force in the afternoon of the same day. The members were detained and charged with "participation in an evil cult". Family members of those detained were informed of the charge and told to take legal action if they so desired. Police officials failed to give proper documentation concerning the arrest and detentions. According to sources the names of those involved are: Wu Guang Qing, Li Shi Xue, Zhang Shao Lin, Wu Xin Quan

This case is yet another incident revealing the pretentiousness of this Government's policy for tolerance and religious freedom. In no way were these church members afforded fair or adequate treatment concerning proper legal procedure which is a constitutional right afforded to all Chinese citizens. CAA and its supporters call for the members of the Erli house church to be adequately and fairly recompensed for the injustices done to them by corrupt Government Officials.

CAA has also learned that Government officials have turned away house church members who have volunteered to help those who have been affected by the recent devastating earthquake in Sichuan Province. These actions are comparable to the recent events in Myanmar, where the ruling Junta refused free aid while thousands of victims suffered without food or shelter. Such biased behavior is a reminder of the irrational prejudice the CPC holds against house church members who want nothing more than to have true religious freedom and help their fellow countrymen in this hour of need.

# 0637 - Prayer for Ted Kennedy

Minister Once Shoved by Kennedy Urges Prayer for Senator

MEDIA ADVISORY, May 20 /Christian Newswire/ -- Following news of Massachusetts senator Edward Kennedy's diagnosis with a brain tumor, conservative evangelical minister Reverend Rob Schenck (pronounced SHANK), who was once angrily shoved by the Senator, today urged all Christians to pray for the man with whom he has had many disagreements.

Schenck, who heads a ministry to top government officials in Washington, has met Kennedy several times. During one encounter Schenck gently admonished Kennedy to return to the deep Christian faith of his mother. Kennedy responded by shoving Schenck aside with a hand to his chest.

"I've always extended every courtesy and all due respect to Senator Kennedy," said Schenck. "But we have had a few unpleasant moments over the years including one when he physically shoved me. Still, God loves Ted Kennedy and it's my obligation as a Christian to do the same. My thoughts and prayers are with the Senator and the entire Kennedy family. I urge all Christians to pray for him."

# 0636 - Prayer Against Cancer!

From the Desk of James W. Goll

This week I am taking our international Prayer Storm emphasis in a very personal direction. I am calling for United Prayer for my wife, Michal Ann, and every person affected by cancer. As many of you know my wife, Michal Ann Goll, and myself have been battling this enemy for over 3 years. While I have seen many advancements in my battle, Michal Ann has faced many difficult weeks recently in her fight. Friday, I returned home from a momentous trip to Israel, I came back 4 days early as Michal Ann was to be released from the care facility she was in to come home. But we faced another challenge as Saturday evening, her first night home in weeks, she had a spiking fever of 103 degrees accompanied by vomiting. This resulted in an ambulance taking her once again to the ER at Williamson Medical Center.

It ends up that Michal Ann has an infection that they are now treating with high-level antibiotics. The doctors have also discovered that there is a bacteria in her blood that has yet to be identified, so we wait on those results. They also did an MRI on her head to see if there was any new cancer activity. The doctor came in on his rounds Tuesday morning and stated that there is no new cancer activity (praise the Lord!) and that some of the swelling has gone down, but there is still a good deal of “blood still on the brain” from the original blood that had been leaking.

So the journey continues, as she again prepares to return back home ASAP. We will know more regarding all these situations on Wednesday when we meet with her oncology doctor. Watch for a Health Update possibly at the end of the week.

So – this week our prayer focus is Crisis Intervention – we are going to pray around the clock around the globe for the full restoration of my wife, Michal Ann Goll, for myself, and every person that is battling this disease of cancer. We lift up prayer on behalf of those who fight daily with this enemy of the Cross! We declare Healing, Healing, Healing!

Original Five Scriptures – Prayer Ammunition in this war

I want to take you back to a dream encounter I had with the Holy Spirit at the end of December 2004 where I was given five effective bullets of grace. Let’s look at this dream again and reload our prayer weapon of warfare. I was shown a gun and it was being loaded with five bullets of effective grace. Each bullet had a scripture written on it. Let’s reload our guns and continue to pray and declare these scriptures out loud!

Jeremiah 30:17 – ‘For I will restore you to health and I will heal you of your wounds,’ declares the Lord.

Isaiah 54:17 – ‘No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper; and every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their vindication is from me,’ declares the Lord.

Proverbs 6:31 – But when a thief is found (caught), he must repay seven fold; He must give all the substance of his house.

Leviticus 17:11 – For the life of the flesh is in the blood.

Matthew 8:16-17 – And when evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed; and He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were ill in order that what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, saying, ‘He Himself took our infirmities, and carried away our diseases.’

How You Can Pray

• We are praying for God’s grace to strengthen our faith to see miracles and healing manifest in every one that is prayed for who has cancer this includes both Michal Ann’s and my body. (Read Zechariah 4:7; Romans 4:20-21; Hebrews 10:23; 1 Corinthians 12:9-10)

• We are forbidding every unhealthy growth and tumor from inhabiting these bodies. We are decreeing that the radiance of God’s power and glory dissolve every unhealthy growth and to strengthen and to purify each and every person. (Read Colossians 1:13-14; Habakkuk 3:4; Hebrews 1:3; Job 22:28)

• We are aggressively take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. Spiritual realities supersede earthly realities. (Read 2 Corinthians 10:3-5; Philippians 4:6-9; Proverbs 4:20-23; Psalm 118:17; 1 Peter 2:24)

• Pray in the Spirit as well! Remember, we believe in the power of Spirit led and Spirit empowered prayer to help us grow in and exercise our faith together!

Seven Reasons Why Jesus Healed!

Now to help fuel our faith – here are 7 reasons why Jesus Healed in Scripture and therefore 7 Reasons Why Jesus Heals Today!

1. Jesus healed simply because He was asked by the deaf man’s friends. (Mark 7:31-37)

2. Jesus healed in response to faith. (Matthew 9:20-22)

3. Jesus healed to testify of Himself and His message. (Acts 2:22)

4. Jesus healed to open wide doors to evangelism. (Acts 9:20-43)

5. Jesus healed to honor His commitment to the Church. (James 5:14-16)

6. Jesus healed so that He and His Father were glorified. (John 11:1-4)

7. Jesus healed because He had compassion and could not turn people away. (Matthew 14:13-14)

“Let us therefore draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16)

Keep Going Until the Full Victory is Manifested!

Let’s unite this week, and let’s turn the tide of cancer and see many many many healings manifested in lives around the world, I believe we will! Thank you for all your love and prayers! Look for more later in the week when I do up a report on An Appointment in Jerusalem!

Remember, together, in Jesus, we make a great team!

James W. and Michal Ann Goll

# 0635 - Continue Praying for Baby Ethan!

Ethan had a good night. He was still getting upset though and neurostorming. They didn't have to give him the ativan though because Joanna and Guillo were able to use some advice from the therapist that came by and get him to calm down and fall asleep. The main prayer for Ethan is that he learn to start calming himself and let himself be calmed when he gets upset. They brought him his little splints today to help his legs and keep his toes from pointing. When he's in rehab and starts to work on things like standing he will also wear the splints.

He will most likely be moved to a regular room today because they are still waiting on insurance approval to move him to rehab. Pray that it goes through quickly so they can get him a spot on the rehab floor. He is getting more alert each day, opening his eyes, but he isn't able to focus on anything to let us know he knows what's going on yet.

I will try to update more when I know about the room situation.....

# 0634 - Prayer for UK Mom....

So far mom has not got better. There is a very heavy oppressive spirit over our town which will not easily shift. Ironic as there are so many healings in Florida that my family has been getting several illnesses, infirmities, accidents etc.

I would be very grateful if you would ask Jesus to heal my mom (Winifred). She has oseporosis and arthritis BUT moreover has now broken her sternum (chestbone) which means she is in agony and it is hard to get enough oxygen in her lungs to be anything like normal. She really needs to be on oxygen fulltime but outside of being permanently in hospital this is not easy to organise.

So I really value your prayers.

The Florida Blessing has not got here yet via the internet despite playing it all the time on download.

May Jesus bless and really reward you,

Thankyou,

- Jonathan, in the UK

# 0633 - Prayer for Timing & Growth....

I’m in Charlotte on business and plan to go to Morningstar Wednesday night. Please pray that the details work out and that God really touches me.

I want to begin to establish fasting as a part of my life. I have tried before with very little success. Please pray that God would give me wisdom and grace to fast as He wants me to. My plan is to fast some on Mondays.

Many Blessings!

IRAQI REFUGEES CRY OUT TO CHRISTIANS AROUND THE WORLD FOR SOLIDARITY

At a recent meeting of Iraqi Christian refugees and church representatives from around the world, Iraqi Christians told stories of incredible suffering in Iraq and overflowing hospitality in Syria. They heard about the pain of living in Iraq and eventually leaving. They heard of the strain the influx of 1.5 million Iraqi refugees have placed on the economy of Syria creating the need for jobs, safety and security. The prices for food and housing are skyrocketing, and it is extremely hard to find a well-paid job.

Many spoke of the trauma they had suffered. "One day 3 gunmen stopped us" said one woman. "They confronted my daughter and asked her why she was in the street without a veil. After that, she did not want to leave home, and she dropped out of university." Another said: "My wife and I knew Christians who were killed. Our numbers were in their mobile phones, and the murderers used them to call and threaten us. We also had some people we thought were friends, who turned out to work for the Mahdi Army. "They took our pictures in order to have us killed."

Munir from the Calvinist community in Baghdad said. "My family was told to leave within 15 minutes or we will kill you," Shortly thereafter an armed gang arrived. "They raped our wives, and even my eighty-year-old mother was beaten." The family left "immediately, without even taking any clothes with us," selling the apartment for a fourth of its value. But life in Syria is not easy either, as the limited resources they managed to bring with them are now used up, and no jobs are available. "My wife urgently needs an operation," he said, "but I have no money to pay for it."

While the refugees are grateful to the Syrian church for welcoming them, many feel let down by the international community. Western embassies have rejected visa applications again and again. "Do they want that parents go back to Iraq and get killed before they allow the children to get out? Must our young women go back and be raped before they are allowed out?" one man asked angrily. "Of course I want to go back to my country," a young woman explained. "But can you guarantee that I will not be killed? My relatives went back and were killed in one night."

The concern felt by Syria's Christian communities for their brothers and sisters in and from Iraq was tangible. "Our church is an open house for Iraqi's either to hold their own services or to join ours, said the Melkite Greek Catholic Patriarch Gregorios III. Pastor Boutros Zaour, of the Evangelical National Church, said "it is Syria's destiny to be hospitable to refugees, ever since the Armenians fled here from the persecutions they suffered in the Ottoman Empire."

Clare Chapman, representing the National Council of Churches USA, said "We must pray for the Iraqi refugees and work together as citizens of our home countries, to address the conditions they daily endure. We must take our responsibility seriously, as people of faith, to do whatever we can to support them as they try to rebuild the lives they lost through no fault of their own. We must join hands and approach our governments to tell them what we have seen and heard. When we return to our countries, we will think of you, we will pray for you and we will act for you."

WEST PAPUA: 45 YEARS OF INDONESIAN RULE

When Indonesia declared its independence from Holland in 1949, the Dutch insisted that West Papua not become part of Indonesia as the Papuans were Melanesian and predominantly Christian, while the Indonesians were Malay and predominantly Muslim. So the Dutch remained in the territory, preparing the people for independence. The Papuans, who were evangelised mostly by Australian and American pioneer missionaries, turned from shamanism, headhunting, cannibalism and tribal war to Christ.

In 1961 a West Papuan Council was elected, a flag was designed and a national anthem composed. Indonesia was furious and responded with an invasion. The United Nations intervened to prevent war. But these were also Cold War days. The Soviets had brokered an arms deal with Indonesia and so America, determined to secure geo-strategic Indonesia in the Western sphere of influence, trumped the Soviets by brokering a comparable arms deal and secretly offering to help Indonesia secure control of West Papua.

In New York in August 1962, the US, on behalf of Indonesia, brokered an agreement with the Netherlands by which the territory's administration would be transferred to a UN temporary authority (UNTEA) until 1 May 1963. Control of West Papua would then be handed over to Indonesia on the understanding that a plebiscite would be held before the end of 1969 allowing the Papuans to vote for or against separation from Indonesia. Thus the Indonesians had six years to win the hearts and minds of the Papuans.

On 1 May 1963, upon assuming administrative control of West Papua, Indonesia disbanded the elected West Papuan Council, burned West Papuan flags and banned the West Papuan national anthem. An era of colonisation, violent repression, exploitation, murder, racism and human rights abuses at the hands of the corrupt Indonesian military (TNI) had begun. The plebiscite was totally rigged and West Papua (Irian Jaya) was formally annexed by Indonesia on 17 September 1969.

The intensity of repression has escalated dramatically since Indonesia lost control of East Timor in 1999. In addition the Islamic revival of the past two decades has added a religious dimension to the Papuans' plight, with Islamists pursuing its full Islamisation. The Laskar Jihad has been set up in West Papua since 2000 and when the jihad in the Moluccas ended, the out-of-work jihadists flooded into West Papua. The Papuans will soon be a minority in their own land. They are facing genocide due to TNI abuses. The Church must be their voice.

PLEASE PRAY SPECIFICALLY FOR:

* God to bless greatly all West Papuan pastors and Christian leaders with words of faith, grace and wisdom as they stand before their congregations, in the midst of their communities and in the presence of their persecutors.

* all the innocent Papuans, including many Christians, who are suffering in Indonesian prisons, or who bear the wounds of TNI brutality. May the Holy Spirit draw each one closer to God, and may they know justice.

* God to awaken the conscience of the Church and the world to the plight of the West Papuans.

PRAYER PENETRATES BORDERS OF BURMA

The situation in Burma continues to deteriorate as a result of the recent devastating cyclone. The pictures we are seeing and the reports coming out of the country are heart-breaking. Many people have not only lost their homes, but many have also lost loved ones. We need to blanket these hungry and homeless survivors in prayer. Many do not have access to food, clean water or medicine. Even though Burma's borders may be closed, our prayers can pass through.

American diplomat Shari Villarosa said the number of deaths could eventually exceed 100,000 because safe food and water were scarce and unsanitary conditions widespread. The United Nations reported there were 1 million homeless people. Also, there were reports that the country's military junta are making it difficult for some international aid to get into Burma.

According to the Open Doors' World Watch List, Burma is No. 25 on the list of 50 countries where Christians suffer state initiated persecution. Of the 55 million citizens, approximately 90% are Buddhist and 4% are Christian. As stated in the World Watch List: Burma is a police state. The army has ruled the country for many decades. There is limited freedom of religion. Most of the country's Christians belong to ethnic minorities and Army campaigns against these minorities often have a side-effect of persecuting Christians.

Christians in Burma will feel the peace and comfort of worldwide prayers. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16 Join in the first line of defence against this devastation as we pray for Burmese victims, rescue operations and the presence of God throughout their nation.

Prayer Points:

* That the leaders of Burma will honour the efforts of others around the world who want to help the survivors.

* The tens of thousands of people missing will be found alive, reunited with their families and the estimated one million homeless will find shelter.

* Food, clean water and medical supplies will be delivered to the most needy as soon as possible.

GRAND MUFTI SAYS YES TO RELIGIOUS FREEDOM

The campaign for religious freedom in Egypt received an unexpected boost, when the country's official religious advisor, Grand Mufti Ali Gomaa, declared that Muslims are free to choose another religion without being subjected to human punishment. This significant statement follows on the heels of another one by Ali Gomaa which confirmed that there was no Islamic justification for female circumcision.

"The essential question before us is can a person who is Muslim choose a religion other than Islam? The answer is yes, they can," the Grand Mufti was reported to have said in the Egyptian press. "The act of abandoning one's religion is a sin punishable by God on the Day of Judgment. If the case in question is one of merely rejecting faith, then there is no worldly punishment," he continued.

"We hope that this man will have the courage to persevere in his enlightened views," commented Arab Vision's International Director, "and that the government of Egypt will be brave and not shy away from accepting the full implications of his words." In recent years, Muslims in Egypt have often been refused official documents to authorize their conversion to other religions. There have been some cases which have led to arrests and imprisonment as well. As a result, many are fearful to declare their faith in Christ, and some resort to being baptized secretly.

"We are in contact with many Muslims who are longing for the day when they can follow Jesus Christ openly and freely," continues Arab Vision's Director. "We ask Christians around the world to pray. What happens today in Egypt can happen elsewhere in the Arab world tomorrow. Egypt, especially through its theologians, has great impact on the whole Muslim world. This opinion of Ali Gomaa may be the breakthrough we have been longing for."

HONDURAS HUNGER STRIKE TURNS INTO NATIONWIDE PRAYER AND FASTING

In an extreme effort to put an end to the corruption within its government, more than 20 prosecutors in Honduras have been on a hunger strike or fast. But that's only the half of it. Many concerned Honduran citizens, as well as entire churches, have joined the endeavour, praying and fasting each day for their country that God would move His hand to root out corruption and injustice.

Pastor Kathy Rubio, a missionary in Honduras, described what is happening. "The major part of the churches are joined in this, and are fasting with these people as well. They are in prayer everyday - all day long - and many more churches join every day. Rich, poor, old, young, people from all over have joined and the Catholic church has joined the strike as well." As Believers from every corner of Honduras unite together in prayer and fasting for their country it could be a powerful message to every nation throughout the world.

As King Jehoshaphat prayed for the Lord's help, so the people of Honduras are standing against the evil in their land "O our God, will You not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You." (2 Chron. 20:12b).. Says Pastor Rubio, "It is the first time that I see hope. The people have been beaten down enough and are now ready to fight back." Let's stand with Honduras in prayer that all the world would witness the righteous judgment and unstoppable hand of the Lord.

SURVEY REVEALS 92% OF AMERICANS SUPPORT TRADITIONAL FAMILY VALUES

A survey undertaken by the Barna Group found some interesting perceptions of how Americans view themselves in relation to society. After gathering results from interviews with over 4,000 adults, in a nationally representative sampling of Americans, Barna's research showed that a vast majority see themselves as "independent thinkers" (95%). Even more, (98%) said they were "loyal and reliable," and four-out-of-five claim to be making a "positive difference in the world."

Although 75% of Americans surveyed stated they were "very open" to alternative moral values, most respondents (92%) asserted that they support traditional family values, while 86% of Americans are "concerned about the moral state of the nation."

Noting the lean toward supporting family values, George Barna added, "Media reports have concluded that people have moved past 'traditional family values' to more progressive social ideas. However, the people weren't aware of that shift. The research suggests that people are open to discussion about values and lifestyles, but they are not as open to changing what they believe to be acceptable behaviour or policy. They remain worried about the moral condition of the nation precisely because they see things moving in a direction that scares them."

# 0631 - Prayer for Don....

I am asking prayer for my son, Don, 35 years old - Don gave up his own business of selling produce to caterers due to high rising costs and gasoline prices as well as insurance on his 2 trucks, he is in debt over $200,000. He is now working for a company that sells produce and has the position of salesman which is very difficult for him due to the fact he can't handle rejection plus he doesn't have the confidence in himself. He's been calling me everyday which for me is a blessing but I am continually encouraging him to see the good in each day. I am asking that you pray that God would give him favor wherever he goes to find new customers so that his confidence will be built up once again. Pray that his steps be ordered by the Lord and that the door of opportunity will be opened and that he would have God's grace each day and see God's hand in this situation. Don is getting married July 26th to a wonderful girl and needs to know that he can take care of her as well as his son and her daughter.

I appreciate any prayers you bring to the Lord on his behalf.

Thank you all,

# 0630 - Three Major Prayer Requests....

Pray for Danny ...Ron, the guy helping Danny ...said he is really concerned about Dannys feet. They look real bad and are turning purple. Said would be terrible if he ended up losing his feet. Ron paid for another week at the place he is at and got him some more prescriptions. One of them was $200.00 just for 2 weeks. Said he couldn’t continue this. Danny told him when his Social Security comes in he will pay him back. The S/S lady told me maybe 2 weeks, and then Danny called because they sent paper work to Kerville, and they told him 2 months more. Just Pray God’s will.

Also, pray for Britney as she has a bacterial infection in both her eyes.

Also, Tony, the guy in Galveston with Cancer is not doing good at all, and his ex-wife has been calling me asking if I could get hold of Gene to find out about him, and to get Gene to take him to a notary to sign papers for her to cremate him because if he doesn’t sign that paper she wouldn’t be able to do it because she is no longer related and his daughter is in prison.

# 0628 - Brothers Robbed! Pray!

Dear Beloved in Christ,

Please pray for my two brothers, Giovanni and Salvatore (both believers) who had a jewelery and watchmaker shop. This afternoon while they were at lunch, robbers broke in and stole all they could, to the amount of around $200,000.00 between gold and watches. Unfortunately, they were not insured!!!

Business was not going well because of the great department stores, but they were surviving. Now they are very discouraged. Please pray for them.

# 0626 - Empowered By The Spirit!

Father, I acknowledge and take to heart this day that the Lord is God in Heaven above and on the Earth below. There is no other. Empowered by Your Spirit, I purpose to keep Your decrees and commands, which You have given me, so that it may go well with me and my children after me, and that I may live long in the land the Lord my God gives me for all time. To the glory of God the Father, I acknowledge that Jesus is Lord of my home, ministry, and the work place. Jesus is Lord of my life! Amen
